The Association \u201eAutism Support Centre in R\u0113zekne\u201d (\u201eAutisma atbalsta punkts R\u0113zekn\u0113\u201d) was established on 27th February 2012 in R\u0113zekne. The aim of the Association is the protection of interests and rights of persons with autistic spectrum disorders (hereinafter as ASD).<\/p>\n
There are many families in Latvia with children and teenagers having functional disorders. For all these families to be happy means to see their children well again after some serious or incurable illness, but to achieve this target, families lack necessary financial means.<\/p>\n
The main targets of the Association \u201eAutism Support Centre in R\u0113zekne is to gather information and render some help to families, having children with special needs (disability), to promote physical and mental development of disabled children having autistic spectrum disorders by involving necessary professionals, as well as to promote the integration of these children into the system of comprehensive education and society in general.<\/p>\n
The aims of the Association include also Exchange of information among similar organizations, as well as awareness campaigns.<\/p>\n
The Association has a status of public benefit organization. For the present moment the Association involves 18 members.\u00a0 The major partners are SIA \u201eRehabilit\u0101cijas centrs R\u0101zna\u201d; \u201eZanes Ludbor\u017eas m\u016bzikas skola\u201d, fund \u201eZiedot.lv\u201d, Youth open centre \u201eJacis\u201d, \u201eLatvian Autism Association\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Association is supported by the fund organization \u201eZiedot LV\u201d, Latvijas vides aizsardz\u012bbas fonds, SIA \u201eRehabilit\u0101cijas centrs R\u0101zna\u201d, Rezekne City Council, when it implements various projects.<\/p>\n
